Fragrance Type Analysis
Fragrance type analysis general explanation:
How do you find your perfume?
The fragrance type analysis was developed from the insights of color psychology by psychologists at the Freiburg Institute for Applied Aesthetics. Fundamentally, a distinction is made between a women's and men's fragrance type analysis. This is due to the fact that women are generally realistic in their choice of perfume and only want to emphasize what they actually are. They choose their fragrance according to the occasion or their current mood. On the other hand, men are more concerned with an ideal and they actually only underline what they would like to be. This means that a man's fragrance cannot be determined solely by colors. They also have to decide on a form.
The unfolding in three phases
1. Top Note: Scent opening that rises to the nose as the first impression. The fragrance is mixed with alcohol, which has to evaporate first and doesn't says much yet.
2. Heart Note: Middle part of a perfume creation, which only unfolds a few minutes after the perfume has been applied.
3. Base Note: Only sets in after 20 - 30 minutes, leaves an intense impression and lasts for many hours.
How does the fragrance type analysis work?
A fragrance should accentuate one's own personality! To simplify the choice of the perfect scent, the fragrance type analysis has been constructed in a very straightforward manner.
- 1. Take a quick look at the symbols of the individual fragrance types!
- 2. Decide intuitively and choose the symbol you like best! If you can't make a spontaneous decision, just choose two symbols that are approximately equal for you.
- 3. Read the corresponding type description of your choice!
- 4. Test the scents of your fragrance type.

Fragrance Type 1 - The Undomesticated Man
Fragrance Type: leathery, cool notes with a balsamic base
Personality profile
On the one hand, he likes compact shapes, and on the other hand, he likes asymmetric and extraordinary forms, which makes his decision for a shape extremely difficult. The "undressed man" sees himself as unconventional and avant-garde. The life demands of the undressed men are clearly defined: they do not want to be seen as well-civilized under any circumstances - freedom, independence, and individuality are important to them.
"By profession: civil servant" - with the "undisciplined man", this is very hard to imagine. He'd rather be a freelance artist, musician, or book author, because he loves the exciting risk. He occasionally gets up to something. This brings him joy and makes his life seem more bearable. His requirements for a fragrance are that it should both have a masculine effect and be individual. His ideal scent is characterized by cool, leathery notes. This is how he wants to present himself to the outside world. His secret desires are satisfied by balsamic resin and fond notes. A fragrance must reflect both his sensitivity and the expression of unbroken, pure masculinity. Because he wants to make all his decisions entirely on his own, he rejects traditional fragrance and cosmetic advice.
